Our formatting service has the same goal as our Desktop Publishing service, however this is for less technical files created with Microsoft Office/ Office 365 or iWork.

Desktop publishing (DTP) is the creation of documents using page layout software. This service is often required when the file that goes through translation is complex due to the elements present on the pages (various sections and titles, images, captions, etc). Simply populating the translation back into the source file will often shift elements and mess up the layout of the file, this is why our DTP operators need to reorganise the elements on the translated file as per the source file. This is particularly the case when translations are done from a language with short sentences such as English into languages with longer words such as German or Italian, for which the document layout must be reorganised (enlarging text boxes, adjusting font size, etc).
