Professional translation services
Translation services
Translation is the process of accurately and idiomatically translating words or text from one language, referred to as the source language, into another, referred to as the target language, without altering the original message. Translation is intended here as human translation, which means content being coined by professional human translators with no input at all from neuro-machine translation engines or AI.
Proofreading Only
Proofreading Only is a translation revision service that can be ordered by our clients on translations that have not been performed by Transladiem originally. Our team needs to get the original source file and the corresponding translation in a bilingual format in order to run the proofreading-only service.
Neuro machine translation
Neuro machine translation, or NMT for short, is an advanced machine translation solution developed to use neural network models to learn a statistical model for machine translation.
Post-editing
Post-editing is the process whereby humans amend machine-generated translation to achieve an acceptable final product. A person who post-edits is called a post-editor. At Transladiem, post-editing is the ultimate Quality Assurance (QA) associated with Neuro Machine Translation services. Indeed, post-editors are senior linguists trained to recognise and fix potential syntactic issues as well as unnatural or awkward wordings and transitions left by the machine.
Certified translations
Our certified translation services are carried out by professional translators that attest to the accuracy and completeness of the translated text. Unlike sworn translations, certified translations do not necessarily require the involvement of a sworn translator with legal accreditation.
Sworn translations
A sworn translation is a document that has been signed and sealed by an authorised (sworn) translator and holds legal significance. These documents include but are not limited to contracts, court rulings, immigration papers, certificates, and intellectual property documentation.
Transcreation (Creative translations)
Transcreation means creative translation and refers to creatively translating marketing materials, whereas translation has a much broader meaning. A successfully transcreated message carries the same emotions and the same implications in the target language as it does in the source language.

Desktop Publishing & Type-setting
Desktop publishing (DTP) is the creation of documents using page layout software. This service is often required when the file that goes through translation is complex due to the elements present on the pages (various sections and titles, images, captions, etc).
E-learning engineering & bug fixing
This service is part of our e-learning process. This is the step in which we rebuild the e-learning modules. Our e-learning engineers populate the translation into the module slides or pages, synch the audio narration and the closed captions if any, and drop the remaining localised elements such as videos, images or resources.
Subtitling (time-coded SRT or VTT file creation)
Subtitling is one of our key video-related services and audiovisual services. Subtitling has its own rules and specifications. When it comes to translation, it is a type of translation that has certain restrictions and criteria which directly affect the final result.

Quality check is a Quality Assurance (QA) step performed on monolingual source materials. This service is particularly requested by clients who want to have content written by non-native speakers fully checked by a native.
